The Bills signed their first notable player this off-season in quarterback Tyler Thigpen. It is being reported that it is a three year deal and I have to say this a great move for the Bills.
Thigpen fits perfectly into the type of offense that Chan Gailey runs so if for some reason he is called upon the offense does not have to change. Not to mention Gailey and Thigpen have already worked together back in 2008, when Gailey was the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs.
Thigpen started 11 games that year and had his best season to date, throwing 18 touchdowns. He has spent the last two years as a back up with Miami.
Some may question his ability as he could not grab the starting gig on a team that has had QB issues for a few seasons now. However, I don't think the Dolphins was a favorable situation for him as it did not play to his style of play. Thigpen is a mobile QB and fits best in a spread offense, which is what Gailey likes to run.
This is a good first move for the Bills but they will need to start grabbing more impact players, especially at middle linebacker after the loss of Posluszny to Jacksonville.
